Can Guinea Pigs Eat Mint?

Yes, guinea pigs can eat fresh mint, including both leaves and stems. They can enjoy peppermint or spearmint safely. Mint is safe, tasty, and packed with nutrients, but it should be fed in moderation as part of a varied fresh vegetable and herb mix.

Benefits of Mint for Guinea Pigs

  • Safe and tasty — Many guinea pigs enjoy the refreshing flavour of mint.
  • Rich in vitamin C — Helps guinea pigs meet their daily requirement.
  • High in fibre — Supports healthy digestion.
  • Adds variety — Provides a different taste to keep meals interesting.

❤️ Note: Many guinea pigs enjoy mint, but in my experience, parsley and basil are usually preferred. Still, mint adds a refreshing flavour and variety to their diet!
