Can Guinea Pigs Eat Spinach?

Guinea pigs can eat spinach leaves, including baby spinach but although they love this leafy green vegetable it should only be given in small quantities a couple of times a week due to the high level of oxalates which can contribute to bladder stones.

Guinea pigs are prone to bladder stones and with the combination of high oxalates and calcium that is contained in spinach, it is advisable to not put too much in their food bowl and only give it as an occasional treat.

Although it may seem obvious, frozen spinach and cooked spinach are not suitable. Always feed your pet raw vegetables.
